Entering Jordan …

The Church of Jesus Christ, , which knows no denominational, cultural, linguistic and other boundaries, is something wonderful, it is the work of the Lord Jesus, she is his bride, she is his property. The Holy Spirit, who prepares the Bride for Parousia, cares for and cares for her. Everyone who is part of the Church knows it perfectly well when he or she stands before the Lord, for example during a Sunday service. Music, songs, testimonies, the Word of God, it all makes us touch heaven. We touch the reality of God and how hard it is to part later when the Church is silent, when it’s time for Sunday lunch. Yet the Word speaks to us strongly, the songs still ring in our hearts, but the reality catches up with us.

Some people go home, where nobody loves the Lord but waiting for Sunday lunch. Perhaps we run to work on the second shift from the service, and we have no one to tell about what we experienced in our meeting with the Lord. But perhaps we are returning home with our family, where we are all still having this wonderful time when we rejoiced because we went home where the Lord was. Ps. 122.1. This house is not a house like the Israelites had, which was built of stone according to the Lord’s instructions, but one where God’s people meet, which is the Lord’s property, which is His temple. God reveals himself in his glory to a people who love him with all their heart.

It is not the walls that praise the Lord nor any other things, but hearts devoted to God – with a broken and broken heart you will not despise God sings David in his penitential Psalm 51. When the Church gathers together to glorify her God, the Lord Jesus Christ is in unity and love in this work , the dew of Hermon falls on him, the blessing of God, as Psalm 133 says, the dew that rises from the mountains of Hermon and falls on Zion, so this dew is God’s blessing, which from the mountain of reconciliation and love flows down on the children of God, on the mountain of praise God. This dew falls on our heads, this anointing goes with us through life, meeting with the Lord gives us strength for each day.

Some, however, come first, , and leave the last of the congregation because they are involved in the ministry. Either they are in the worship team, or they are leading the service, or they will share the Word of God, or they are taking care of the children, or the cafe, or many other works that serve the Church. They are instruments of God who called them to various ministries in his Church. These people are like priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant that accompanied Israel on the way to the promised land. The priests of their time stood before Jordan, the leader of Israel at that time was Joshua, and the rushing Jordan was an obstacle for them. It was not like the Red Sea, they had no choice but to be saved immediately, they were chased by Pharaoh’s army. God parted the sea and they could come to salvation. Therefore, baptism is an image of salvation, the converting man confirms his love for Christ with baptism, to leave behind Egypt, the place of Satan’s oppression and rule, of which the pharaoh was.

Crossing Jordan, was another act, it was an expression of their desire, an act of trust in God. There was no need to send spies there to find out, only two spies ran to explore Jericho. Israel stands before the spilled Jordan waiting for their leader to receive guidance from God. God has spoken, the priests are to enter Jordan with the ark of the covenant. They obediently take the Ark and enter the water, when their feet touched the water, it stopped, a miracle happened, the river stopped. They went to the center and they were to stand there. All Israel passed through the Jordan, they looked at it all, but they had to stand and hold the chest on their shoulders. Only after they had all passed did they could come out, after them they had gone out, the waters of Jordan filled the river bed again.

Anyone who wants to serve the Lord must be like these priests, obedient to God, ready for a mission that no one else can to perform, persistent and not seeking applause. Quite silent and faithful. And, at the same time, leading a holy life. Completely devoted to the Lord and His will. Are we like that? Or rather, we say, ok, I will enter this Jordan, but first I will ask my wife what she says that I will not help her with the children. Or, okay, but I still have to meet Janek, because I have an appointment and I can’t fail. Or, damn sure, I would do it, but I’ll be overnight and I won’t be able to do it, you know, work is so important these days.

Sometimes these are excuses not only to stay out of the ministry, but to attend a church gathering in general. We live in a time when man and his needs are the most important, and in fact his hedonistic needs are the most important. Neighbors are not counted, even mother and father, even children, but everywhere I am all-reigning, for ME, about ME, with ME, so that only I can have pleasure and profit from it. I read an article about Sweden, where even marriage lasts as long as I feel good in it, the couple do not have to explain themselves to anyone when they break up, divorce seems to be automatic. The author of this article was delighted with this, but why in Sweden, maybe in our poledek, do not our artists who we admire, musicians and others from the industry do the same? Don’t the beautiful ladies, just for the sake of publicity, do things they would never do? Unfortunately, yes, the testimonies of converted “stars” speak of it. How about that, nothing? We keep watching and admire, and admiring it, we start to imitate.

Unfortunately, cultural trends, , whatever they may be, sometimes even quite good and sometimes emotional upheaval in us, make us become become artificial. Often even attending a Church meeting is merely a cultural custom. Yes, we will even enter the waters of the Jordan, but also the artificial Jordan and the waters that are not real. And our intentions, it’s better not to look at them. However, by looking at the priests from the Jordan’s waters, we can learn something, authenticity, perseverance, and faithfulness that not only served them, and perhaps as the last one, but also for the entire people of God. God’s people entered into the promises, entered into a place prepared for them by God. Places of blessing, though they had to fight for that blessing. Yet it was theirs, a gift from God. The people entered and settled after a long wandering place of their destination.

Are we serving the Lord today we have this perspective, do we do what the Lord intended for us in joy, faithfulness and silence? Do we agree to stand in Jordan when the others have already left and are jumping for joy? Do we enjoy their joy? Yes, it is not easy, already Jeremiah felt the weight of God’s hand Jer. 15.17. But let’s look at Jesus in His earthly ministry, was it easy, joyful, and full of praise – oh no, it ended in rejection, scourging and death. Are we ready for it, or do we expect cheers and bows, kisses on the ring and humiliation of every person we meet? What is the Lord’s service? In the Gospel In John chapter 15 we read that since Jesus was persecuted, we will also be persecuted! You want to avoid this, brother, sister, know that if you are really standing in Jordan, you cannot avoid it.

But what is human glory, nothing in the face of the Lord’s eternal glory!

Yours in Mr. Kazik J.
