Read Time:2 Minute, 55 Second

The joy of Advent. No one was excluded from the joy brought by the Lord Jesus. For the great joy announced by the angels on the night of Christ’s birth really belongs to all the people, namely to the people of Israel, who then eagerly waited for the Savior, and to countless peoples, all those who, in the course of time, will accept the same news, striving to adapt to it. my life *.

The third Sunday of Advent reminded us of the sources of Gospel joy. O God, whose love knows no measure, is not discouraged, who loves saints and sinners, who is near. His majesty raises and opens up a chance for conversion and a new life. We remembered about giving, about not abusing the functions entrusted to us, about the necessary trust in the proper development of the events of my life and in its happy ending.

Everything is a gift from God. Today’s liturgy reminds me, first of all, that God knows each one of us, and that a child is his plan and gift for us and for the world. Although the message of today’s readings is gentle, to the point, giving meaning, I know that everything that happens to us is a challenge, and in life we have to fight for arguments, fight feelings, doubts, trust, often to the end of human strength. Its name may be infertility, but also loneliness, illness or some other deficiency or deficit …

Late joy in today’s readings is shared by the nameless woman in the Book of Judges and her husband Monoach, Samson’s parents. Likewise, Elizabeth and Zechariah through John the Baptist.

There are more of these biblical characters. Sarah and Abraham (Isaac), Rachel and Jacob (Joseph), Rebekah and Isaac (Jacob and Esau), Anna and Elkana (Samuel) … The Spirit of the Lord rests on children, on the sons of old and sterile parents. Does God want to show us that for Him nothing is impossible, that He will always take the initiative and that youth does not know the time frame with Him? That He wants to take away from us the shame of helplessness, sterility, what we cannot, do not want, what we have become old and infirm in?

Pope Francis, in turn, persistently teaches us that the modern Church is like a hospital, and in that case there should also be an admission and discharge room, cardiology, psychiatry, pathology, neurology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation, intensive care unit … Soul therapy, body therapy.

A message (for a year) of mercy. There is only one healer. There are ten commandments. God comes, He chooses a place and time. We are not to wait, we are to act.

There are seven works of mercy in relation to the body. Feed the hungry. Give those thirsty. Clothe naked. Take the travelers home. Comfort prisoners. Visit the sick. Bury the dead. For the soul also seven. Admonish sinners. The ignorant. To advise the doubters well. Comfort the worried. Injury patiently endure. I will gladly forgive injuries. Pray for the living and the dead **.

Open us, Lord, to live your Advent. Bring back our name, meaning, youth.
