How to make a dog fat in 5 steps?

STEP THREE: PASS THE DOG WITH “HUMAN” FOOD

This is a very common case: the dog receives well-balanced, high-quality meals on a regular basis, but the owner, despite knowing how much the dog should eat and wanting to show love and pleasure, from time to time time a piece of sausage, sausage or cheese. In the most hardcore version, I saw an animal fed… chips.

Believe me – there are better ways to show your pet a warm feeling than tossing him “human”, often processed food – e.g. playing together outdoors, a new toy or simply long walk. While the human liver is relatively good at digesting intensely spiced and fatty snacks (which, of course, does not mean that we do not have to be careful about what we eat!), The dog’s liver is not adapted to it. If we really want to give the pooch something from our own menu, let’s see what it could be.

STEP FOUR: FEED BOLDLY

You add the food and you add it, and the dog quickly cleans the bowl and looks at you expectantly? That doesn’t mean he’s still hungry. Some dogs tend to overeat. It may be related to the breed (often this problem is related to Labradors), it may be due to the psychological problems of the pooch. Eternal hunger can also be a symptom of illness, and it can also mean that our pet is on an inappropriate diet.

It is very important that you consult your vet and come up with a dog’s menu together. Overfeeding a dog leads to overweight and obesity, and this often means, among others, joint problems, liver, kidney and intestinal disorders, decreased immunity or the risk of diabetes.

STEP FIVE: GIVE THE DOG WHAT HE TASTES MOST

Sometimes I hear statements like “my dog doesn’t like dry food, so I don’t give it to him.” Then I ask: children like sweets the most – should chocolate and candies be the basis of their diet ?! Of course, there can be many reasons why a dog does not want to eat what we give him (e.g. he does not eat dry food because his croquettes have an uncomfortable shape for a given pooch) and it is always worth consulting a vet about this, but very often it results from mistakes made by the owner.

If you happen to toss your pet various treats between meals (I’m not talking about dog treats served during training or play) or share your dinner with him, you show him that food has many names, there are tastier and tastier things. Your pooch does not eat what is in the bowl to show you that he prefers something else. When you break up and replace your food with broth pasta that you eat for dinner… the vicious circle is closed. When planning a dog’s nutrition, you should be guided primarily by the needs of the dog’s body, and not the preferences of the four-legged friend.

WHAT IS IT ALL LEADING TO?

We are doing the dog a disservice by committing the mistakes described above, and our behavior can lead to overweight or obesity. At the same time, we expose our pet to various diseases, e.g. diabetes, heart, liver or kidney failure, mobility problems, joint overload, digestive problems, and decreased immunity. Improper diet shortens and makes life difficult – for both humans and dogs. If we care about the health and happiness of our pet, we need to spend some time finding out what our pet’s nutritional needs are. Remember: feeding your dog should be well thought out, systematized and consistent.
