Online Helped Survive the Pandemic and Win the Ministry of Finance Tender: Profi Training Business School Case Study

Online helped to survive the pandemic
and win the tender of the Ministry of Finance: case study of the Profi Training business school

In May 2020, due to the pandemic, the Profi Training business school moved testing, and then the learning process, online. This helped to survive the crisis, expand the product line and win a tender from the Ministry of Finance for a large-scale project. Eleonora Rukhman, director of Profi Training, shared her experience of transferring training to an online format.

Profi Training is a business school for teaching financial and accounting, as well as taxation, preparing participants for exams in professional international certification programs.

The transition of Profi Training to online was planned in advance. The team planned to open the possibility of distance learning by July 2020, but the pandemic has accelerated the process – already in May, school students took tests and took exams exclusively online on the We.Study platform.

The We.Study platform was chosen because of its simple interface, reliable technical support, and safe storage of materials.

1. Gradual transition
We started cautiously: at first, only testing was transferred to the online format. I liked the effect: before, the coach checked the work for a day and a half, now the result was calculated automatically and instantly. Then we uploaded demo materials to the platform and assembled the course from files of various formats: presentations, documents, videos.

2. Keeping deadlines
At first, it seemed difficult to transfer 104 academic hours of full-time study to online: it is difficult to imagine productive online classes for 4 hours in a row. The situation was complicated by deadlines: students had to be prepared strictly for the exam date, there was no way to stretch the course for six months. Platform tools, optimization of the work of trainers, involvement of moderators and tutors made it possible to leave the duration of the course unchanged – exactly 3 months.

3. Close communication
At a face-to-face lesson, the coach does not have the opportunity to comment on the work of everyone. In an online format, targeted individual interaction is one of the most important advantages. Moderators and tutors are responsible for monitoring the progress of students and solving organizational issues – trainers can focus on counseling. With the transition to online communication has become even closer.

4. Collect feedback
Profi Training necessarily conducts a survey of each group. At the beginning of the training – to find out the expectations from the course, and at the end – to evaluate the materials, the trainer and the platform. 90% of reviews are positive, 10% of unsatisfied comments are due to technical unpreparedness or inattention of students during registration.

5. Search for opportunities
In the process, the idea appeared to sell a separate record of classes – on We.study there are tools for creating, editing, storing and selling video materials. The line of educational products Profi Training was replenished with video recordings – school courses have become more accessible.

Results: expansion of the product line, 90% of satisfied students, the growth of students' performance, access to the international market

Time testing time; minute; 1-1.5 days the duration of the course; 3 months; 3 months the number of students in one coach; up to 30; 15-20 ability to catch a missing lesson; recording webinars; 🙁 rating; points higher by 10-15 % (largely due to the closed trajectory of the course)

The company plans to translate three more courses online, add management training and start the format of completely independent passage.

According to Eleanor, “offline will not be the same”: even when full -time trainings will return, there will be testing, access to educational materials and the possibility of viewing the lesson in the record.

Now Profi Training has a project with the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan: mass training of the basics of international financial reporting standards. Such a global expansion of the audience became possible thanks to the transition to online. Links to the course will be posted
On all resources of the ministry.
