Moscow, Aug 16 – RIA Novosti, Vladislav Biryukov. The world's largest manufacturer of microprocessors, the American Corporation Intel Corp., signed an agreement on the purchase of the Texas Instruments unit (TI) engaged in the production of cable modems, on Monday, Intel said.
Acquisition will help the largest manufacturer of microprocessors get new markets for their products.
“The logic is to attract third -party businesses. Without additional markets, the company will not be able to progress,” the director of the press service of the Intel Corporation in Russia and the CIS countries Mikhail Rybakov told RIA Novosti correspondent.
According to the press release, combining TI developments and its own systems on the basis of Intel Atom architecture, the corporation plans to create an open platform for the production of cable modems, TV settings, digital television recretions, players of optical discs and other household electronics.
All TI employees who work in the purchased unit (mainly in Israel) will receive work proposals from Intel.
