Following the success of the LOL comedy series on Prime Video, season two is on its way: Amazon reveals main characters who will be competing to the last laugh
This comedian locked in the house and a challenge to overcome: resist until the last second without laughing at the jokes of colleagues. Here’s the LOL comedy show – who laughs is out, the one who had great success on Prime Video, and now returns with a new edition and a new cast of professional laughs.
The format produced by Endemol Shine Italy for Amazon Studios was born in Japan and also landed in Italy, where Ciro Priello from The Jackal triumphed in last year’s edition. In episodes of the comedy show, the comedians gave their all, most notably Elio with Elio e le storie tese and Frank Matano, who competed to the last gag and were eliminated. Now Prime Video has announced the names of the 10 comedians who will star in the upcoming season two who will have to avoid laughing under the watchful eye of Fedez as game master and Frank Matano as his Sidekick.

The second season of LOL – chi ride è fuori on Prime Video will also be full of good things to see. Jokes and gags that are supposed to burst into the network and become more catchy slogans, such as the loud Frank Matano pipe that was a hit on Amazon.
The streaming platform has finally announced the new stars of its hugely successful comedy show, including Virginia Raffaele, Corrado Guzzanti, Diana Del Bufalo, Maccio Capatonda, Maria Di Biase, Mago Forest, Alice Mangione, Gianmarco Pozzoli, Tess Masazza and Max Angioni.
At the helm is the confirmed Fedez, now Prime Video ambassador in Italy, joined by a former contestant who amused the audience even if he was not among the winners: the lovable Matano.
LOL – who laughs is out: how it works
The comedians selected for the second edition of the LOL will find themselves at home, with a stage on which they will perform and a dressing room where they will prepare their outfits. Their sole purpose is to tell jokes, gags and sketches that will make their opponents laugh and take them out of the game.
A challenge to the last joke and the last laugh that will have no mercy for those who allow themselves even a little smile on their lips. The first laugh will result in a yellow card. For the second laugh you get a red card and you are out. In short, seriousness is a must if you want to win a prize of € 100,000 to be donated to a charity chosen by the winner.
LOL – who laughs drops out: when it comes
The format of the comedy show comes from Japan and has been duplicated in 10 countries, including Italy. In Italy, the comedians have proven so good that they have achieved great success: LOL is Amazon’s record-breaking original Italian series on the platform.
Nicole Morganti, head of Amazon Originals Italia, comments: “For the second edition, the willingness to experiment also manifests itself in choosing a cast of participants that are divided equally between men and women to break all stereotypes about comedy.”
The release date has not yet been announced by Prime Video, but the second season of LOL could be released in early 2022, bearing in mind that the first season was released on the platform in April 2021.
