Although eight months until the final exams, the best physics and mathematics teachers are already in demand
September is the high time for an ambitious graduate student to choose a good tutor. Additional lessons are essential for high school graduates who want to pass exams at the advanced level.

A high school graduate, who has planned a prestigious study, has been looking for a good tutor a year or even a year and a half earlier. It is not just for students to find a recognized teacher. For the high school graduate, time is also important, because six or seven months until the May exam is sometimes too little to learn the whole material.
– My daughter, a high school graduate, attends one of the high schools in Radom. At the beginning of September, the chemistry teacher told her class that she would not prepare well for the final exams and it would be better for them to take advantage of private lessons – says our reader from Radom.
LOTS OF ANNOUNCEMENTS
It must be said right away that in Radom there is no problem with finding a teacher for additional lessons. There is a whole crowd of students and teachers ready to help a jittery high school student for a handful of zlotys. There are many advertisements on the Internet.
– Lesson prices have even dropped recently, because many teachers were made redundant in Radom, for example. Now those out of work, as well as the mass of working teachers, give tutoring. Hence, the average tutoring prices have dropped by about 10 zlotys and students can choose from more offers – says Mr. Wojciech, one of the lecturers.
Students are the least picky and charge for lessons, sometimes even 25 or even 20 zlotys per lesson. Opinions on the effectiveness of students are divided.
– The advantage of students is that they have recently passed their high school final exams, they still have exams at university and they know how to pass and what is needed – says Kasia, a student tutoring mathematics.
– I would never agree to study with a student. It may be wasted money, but it may not be that much. The student has no idea about the school curriculum and does not have much experience when it comes to preparing for high school exams, says an experienced chemistry teacher.
PAY PRESTIGIOUS
However, the most prestigious are recognized teachers, with achievements, who take more for lessons. The students’ considerable successes speak in their favor.

– First of all, the teacher knows from previous years what was at the matura exam, what to expect. Few tasks can surprise him. Such a professor also has results: his students have already passed the exam and made a good advertisement for him – says Mr. Krzysztof, a chemistry tutoring teacher.
What teachers are the most sought after in Radom? There is no question that physicists. There are not too many physicists in the city, compared to, for example, Polish philologists or English teachers.
The choice of a specific subject is also determined by the fashion for studies. Recently, science subjects have become more popular: mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology. Humanists are in disgrace, historians and geographers hardly have any tutoring.
– I teach chemistry, physics and mathematics. There are always many people interested in these subjects, because students want to go to technical faculties in the future – adds Kasia.
It should also be added that English speakers are always in demand, but also because thousands of people learn English today: from preschoolers to adults who go to the Islands to work.
Fear of math
Many high school graduates are wondering today how they will do in May at the high school graduation. Concerns mainly concern science subjects, including compulsory mathematics. Many students failed math on their last high school exams.
– With mathematics, it is really different at the matura exam. If there is an easy exam in one year, there are more difficult tasks in the next. High school graduates are afraid of this and that is why they are looking for tutoring in mathematics – says Agnieszka, who has been tutoring mathematics for years.

Why do students use tutoring? It’s not hard to guess.
– How am I supposed to learn, since there are 30 people in the class and the teacher does not have time to watch over everyone. Nobody will help me at home either. Without traffic jams I will not be able to do the extended matura exam – says Monika, a high school student from Radom.
Cost of tutoring in Radom
| In Radom the cheapest rates for one hour of individual physics, mathematics or chemistry lessons for 45 minutes are 25 zlotys. However, students and teachers from small towns are usually valued so low. Most teachers charge you per clock hour. High school students who organize tutoring in small groups of two or three can still count on discounts. The highest rates in Radom that we managed to establish are PLN 100 per hour. The average cost of the lesson is PLN 50. |
