Another Donald Trump social network account has been banned: Snapchat blocks the tycoon’s profile also on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube

Donald Trump has also been banned by Snapchat. Exactly one week after the account suspension, the social network has now confirmed that his personal profile has been permanently banned, adding another item to the list of social networks that banned the tycoon.

Thanks to Snapchat’s decision, it can now be confirmed that in the past week all major social media platforms have blocked The Donald’s profiles for a fixed or indefinite period, preventing or restricting the publication of new content. Yesterday, there was information about YouTube cracking down on the tycoon’s personal channel, which – at least for now – decided on a seven-day veto in connection with posting content considered potentially violent or likely to cause violence among viewers. For the next six days, Trump will not be able to upload new material or interact with comments that are currently blocked.

Donald Trump and Snapchat ban, what happened?

The first signals from Snapchat arrived in June last year, along with a request to remove Trump’s account from Discover, a special area of the platform where major international publishers publish and promote their stories, effectively sharing them with millions of social network users.

The choice was confirmed by SnapChat CEO Evan Spiegel in a statement: “We will not amplify the voices that incite racial violence and injustice by offering them free promotions on Discover. Racial violence and injustice have no place in our society, and we we stand with all who seek peace, love, equality and justice in America. “

Donald Trump, list of social media that have banned him

Snapchat and YouTube are just the latest two pawns to hit the ground in a game that began after the recent clashes in and around the Capitol grounds in Washington. Hours after these events, Trump was permanently banned from Twitter, followed closely by Facebook and Instagram.

Until a few hours ago, Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer, confirmed that she had no intention of removing this measure given the violation of the social network’s terms of use. On the contrary, the platform continues to find and block all content supporting “stop the steal”, a slogan supporting the campaign of the outgoing president of the United States of America over the unfounded vote-counting fraud that allegedly marked Joe Biden’s victory in the recent election.

As if that were not enough, other bans also came from Pinterest and TikTok, along with Reddit, a platform that has millions of users around the world and allows people to share and discuss on all kinds of topics, including politics. The list is completed by Twitch and Discord, Amazon’s live streaming and text and voice chat platforms, the e-commerce platform Shopify and Stripe, an online payment service.

Donald Trump, Parler is also dead

The last nail in the coffin of Donald’s social presence was driven by Amazon itself, which in recent days, at least for the time being, put an end to Parler, a far-right social networking site particularly popular among supporters of the outgoing president. Apple and Google have also removed the app from their virtual stores, blocking the possibility of downloading it, even if the social network manages to find a new home in the coming days.
