World War Z: Aftermath has been unveiled at E3: What’s New, Compatibility, Release Date and Prices for the New Zombie Shooter

At E3, which is broadcast in full – details of where, how and when to watch for free here – World War Z: Aftermath, the next generation of the popular zombie survival game, has been unveiled in the last few hours.

World War Z: Aftermath is not an absolute novelty on all fronts, it is rather an improved and therefore not surprising version of the existing game. The developer, Saber Interactive, made changes to the original game to bring it to more consoles. Support has been added for the official platforms from the end of last year – PlayStation 5 and the Xbox series, while maintaining compatibility – not immediately though – with older, but still up-to-date consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, not forgetting PCs. Before Saber releases World War Z: Aftermath for PS4 and Xbox One, the game will be priced at $ 39.99 and scheduled to ship by the end of the year.

World War Z: Aftermath

World War Z: Aftermath is actually an extended edition of Game of the Year Edition: it includes all the content to which new ones have been added, such as new characters, first-person mode and much more. There will also be a new class known as Vanguard, new locations to visit and three new action locations: Rome, the Vatican and the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia.

Another major new feature in World War Z: Aftermath is the ability to wield two weapons simultaneously in a new hand-to-hand combat, with new moves and perks to unlock. The debut of a new Horde Mode XL exclusive to PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X | S, which makes the experience more exciting with tons of undead enemies who will be focused on the screen.

World War Z: Aftermath, premiere and prices

World War Z: Aftermath will be released later this year for the previous generation consoles – PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – regardless of whether you have one of the previous generations eligible for a simple (cheaper) upgrade or buy the game again first.

The developer will continue to work until at least the beginning of the new year to improve graphics and performance. And more or less the same is expected by the lucky ones who will get their hands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, who will be able to enjoy the game not only in 4K resolution, but also in 60 frames per second.

World War Z: Aftermath will arrive later this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC for $ 39.99, according to Saber Interactive, with backward compatibility for PS5 and Xbox Seris X | S. Interestingly, those who own World War Z can upgrade to World War Z Aftermath for less than $ 20 (prices in euros are yet unknown).

For those who want the last resort, there is the Aftermath Deluxe Edition which costs $ 49.99 or $ 29.99 for those who already own World War Z. This version includes several weapon skins, a bonus weapon pack and four days Early Access to new content.

PS5 and Xbox Series X | S owners will have to wait until early 2022 as mentioned, but the good news is that the update is free for those who purchase it for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
