Xiaomi is almost ready for the premiere of Mi 7, it will be a bezel-less smartphone with two cameras, and on board we will find Snapdragon 845

Xiaomi has recently also been conquering the Western market, to such an extent that the Chinese company has also started selling in Italy. After dedicating the first few months of the year to bringing mid-range devices to the market, Xiaomi will dedicate the second quarter of 2018 to high-end models.

The Chinese company is also preparing to launch two new devices on the market: Xiaomi Mi 7 and Xiaomi Mi 7 Plus

The line chosen by Samsung and LG with borderless, i.e. frameless, full-screen phones, sets the standard among Android devices. Xiaomi Mi 7 will also be a frameless smartphone with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. To be fair, there is a small bezel on the new Xiaomi, and this is at the top of the screen and is used for the home front camera. In fact, the notch made famous by Apple will also make its debut on the Xiaomi smartphone and it will be on the Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus. The OLED screen of both devices will be made by Samsung and will support the Always On Display function. A display that leaves no room for a physical button and a fingerprint sensor. Most likely it will be moved to the back of the device or placed under the screen (unlikely).

Technical specification of Xiaomi Mi 7

Xiaomi Mi 7 will be a real top device in its class. 6GB of RAM will be on board to support the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Users will have two models, one with 64GB and the other with 128GB. Please note that the disk space will not be expandable.

Xiaomi Mi 7 Photo Department

In the rear camera of the Xiaomi Mi 7 we find two 16-megapixel sensors with a focal length of 1.7 with real-time bokeh and electronic image stabilization. The battery capacity is to be the same as the predecessor (Xiaomi Mi 6), i.e. 3170mAh. The smartphone is expected to not support wireless charging.

Mi 7 Plus Features

Mi 7 Plus will simply be an enlarged version of Mi 7. The equipment and photography are the same: Snapdragon 845, supported by 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal memory. On the back there will be a dual camera with sensors made by Sony. However, the screen will be different. 18: 9 aspect ratio but 6.01 inch size. The battery will be upgraded to 3500mAh.

Face Scanning of Xiaomi Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus

Recently, Xiaomi collaborated with Himax Technology to create its own 3D face scanning sensor. According to preliminary rumors, the sensor will be ready by January 2018, and the Chinese company is to mount it in the Mi 7. The smartphone will therefore have a face recognition system very similar to that of the iPhone X. As for the fingerprint reader, it is expected that Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus will adopt two different solutions. The Mi 7 will mount a fingerprint reader on the back of the device, while the Mi 7 Plus can adopt the sub-screen fingerprint sensor already seen on other devices (including the Mate RS).

Price and release date of Xiaomi Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus

The price of Xiaomi Mi 7 is very aggressive for the smartphone market. We are talking about € 350 for the 64GB model and about € 450 for the 128GB model. The device, initially expected at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in early 2018, is expected to be unveiled on May 23 instead. At least, this is suggested by the seemingly official poster that has been circulating on Chinese social networks for several days. If that’s the case, the Xiaomi Mi 7 could land in Asian markets even before the summer.
