A few years ago, Pope Benedict XVI, in the face of socio-cultural changes taking place in Europe, assessed that: Europe is of great economic, cultural and intellectual importance and, accordingly, it has a great responsibility. Europe still needs to find its full identity in order to be able to express itself and act on this responsibility.

Today, Europe’s problem seems to be blurring the values on which it built its identity. Roman law, Greek philosophy and the Gospel are giving way to: de-Christianization, secularization, and increasingly spreading consumerism. Man is reduced to the role of a freely disposable commodity; liquidate when its existence turns out to be a threat to someone’s freedom. The world has condemned the crimes of the last few decades, while the regulations of individual commissions that threaten the values of human life and religious freedom are accepted without much emotion. This type of behavior leads to the absurdity of straining out a mosquito and swallowing a camel (cf. Mt 23:24).

Recently, the words of Natalia Niemen, who openly expressed her attachment to values close to her, during the convention of one of the political parties, have recently caused considerable criticism. However, the artist’s statement was met with disapproval, in which she stated: We are here because we support people who, with their whole heart, with their words and actions and, I believe, with their heart’s intentions, wish that in our Poland they would continue, not die, flourish and grow traditional values. Values like God. But a living God, not only one who is like a painted picture in front of a church. But the one who really lives in the heart. If a man allows him to do so, God lives in the heart – no different. Family – the second point. What else? Honor. In that order. And then the motherland is full of beauty, goodness and the strength that is soon to be lacking in the world. The daughter of an outstanding singer confessed that Jesus is Lord, and: a man without God in his heart will always be in a lost position .

The above assumptions, which constitute the basis for building appropriate relations in contemporary society by modern critics – faithful to the latest trends, have been considered to put the brain into a religious ideology . In this light, one could ask what are the groups supporting the threats to modern civilization resulting from the ratification of acts against the life of the conceived, the health of women and the proper functioning of the family (Council of Europe Convention on violence against women and domestic violence and the decision of the minister of health regarding the preparation of “Day after”)? Is it not a symptom of brain lubrication? In the name of progress and innovation, the rational arguments expressed in the appeals of people from the scientific community, as well as those associated with the Church – whose protests are unfortunately considered out of date, do not correspond to contemporary realities.

In the face of these events, the words sung by Th. Niemen less than half a century ago . Strange is this world where there is still so much evil. And it is strange that for so many years man has been despised by man.

We need to hope and take action so that this world does not perish thanks to people of good will.
