Thanks to the resources of the Internet, you can enrich your Norwegian course with very interesting materials for self-study. In this article you will find lots of useful links that will make learning Norwegian fun for you 🙂

I think that only learning Norwegian on your own is not the best solution. At least in the beginning, you need a teacher who will be our guide in the land of a foreign language. However, apart from learning during the Norwegian course, under the supervision (and ear) of a teacher, independent work is extremely important, and this is where the world of Internet opportunities opens up before us.

Textbook and exercises

Choosing a good Norwegian textbook is half the battle. The Cappelen series of textbooks, På vei (beginner level), Stein på stein (intermediate level) and Her på berget ( an advanced level). If you get them, you can use a variety of online exercises for free, ideally suited to the topics of each chapter, in turn at the following links:

http://pavei.cappelendamm.no/
http://steinpastein.cappelendamm.no/
http://herpaberget.cappelendamm.no/

Also using the Fagbokforlaget textbooks, e.g. Ny and Norge for beginners and Mer Norsk for intermediate, we can reach for on-line exercises: http: / /nyinorge.portfolio.no/ and http://mernorsk.portfolio.no/.

Playful and profitable
The internet is full of fun and colorful exercises for all levels of Norwegian learning. For a start, I recommend simple vocabulary exercises: http://ord.cappelendamm.no/,
eye-pleasing grammar exercises: http://exploringnorwegiangrammar.cappelendamm.no/, friendly exercises for grammar and phrases : http://praktisknorsk1.cappelendamm.no/,
interesting exercises, also by listening: http://herborvi1.cappelendamm.no/
and various exercises for beginners: http://norsk123.cappelendamm.no/ and http://norskna.portfolio.no /.
You can also take advantage of the free, online course commissioned by the Norwegian Vox Center for Lifelong Learning:

Radio and television
When learning any foreign language, it is important to listen to it as often as possible. This is where radio and television come to our aid. These are particularly valuable sources, as they allow us to listen to a living language and learn about various dialects. On the Internet we have access to Norwegian TV NR K www.nrk.no and radio: http://radio.nrk.no/. It is a good habit to watch the news ( Dagsrevyen ) in Norwegian every day and listen to the radio while doing other activities such as cooking or cleaning. I also recommend the website: http://nrksuper.no/super/, it is a television and radio aimed specifically at children. There we can listen to a slightly simpler language. And on the website: http://www.nrk.no/skole/ you will find many film programs on a variety of topics, from the aurora to philosophy.

A simple newspaper
Norwegian newspapers are worth reading, such as Aftenposten , Dagbladet or VG , however it is best to start with www.klartale.no, a newspaper written in plain language, where you will find short articles in five sections – world, Norway, culture, sport and thematic section. A very interesting project for visual learners are the so-called picture messages, i.e. Nyheter and bilder http://www.nyb.no/. Here articles are made of simple, graphical symbols.

Learn Norwegian with a Norwegian girl
There is nothing like contact with a native speaker. Just go to the profile of a nice Norwegian woman on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Crienexzy to be able to watch her films about the Norwegian language. She has a very nice accent so we can confidently learn Norwegian pronunciation from her.

Picture dictionary
For visual learners, I recommend the Lexin picture dictionary ( Bildesider: Bokmål ), where you will find 33 picture boards on various topics, signed in Norwegian. There is also a written version of the Lexin dictionary ( bokmål-Polish ) with the possibility of hearing how to pronounce a given word. Additionally, word usage examples and related words are given here.

And what kind of internet materials do you most like to use?
