Pixel Watch will arrive in 2022, according to rumors that painted a portrait of Google’s first smartwatch
Google Pixel Watch has been talked about many times for years. The project appears to have been on a “construction site” in Mountain View for a long time, but Google has apparently never found the right framework to implement the idea it has in mind. The Pixel 6 debut has apparently shuffled the cards, and the Pixel Watch seems to be getting closer and closer to its debut.
Google was actually close to releasing its first smartwatch. Indiscretion some time ago told us that the search giant’s smartwatch could have made its debut as early as 2017, when LG Watch Sport and Watch Style hit the market: an anonymous employee confessed that both were intended for Google, but hardware chief Rick Osterloh later ruled that they don’t seem to be consistent with the Pixel spirit, and nothing has come of it. According to rumors, Pixel Watch is being developed in Google laboratories under the code name Rohan. The project is not said to involve the Fitbit people who have been at Google’s disposal since the beginning of the year when the company was “absorbed” into Mountain View for over $ 2 billion.
It is thought that the Google Pixel Watch will be based on the same philosophy as the Pixel smartphones, namely that showing the level of user experience that can be achieved on the Android platform with the right hardware and software optimization – and Google is a champion at this , not least because of its close relationship with Android for obvious reasons.

Google Pixel Watch will not run out of sensors and ad hoc functions for tracking daily activities and sports, so the presence of a heart rate monitor, GPS and various accelerometers is not questioned. But there should also be full compatibility – not even to speak of integration – between the tracking app developed and developed over the years by Fitbit and Wear OS 3, which would therefore be among the new features that Google will announce at the same time as Pixel Watch.
