Such a great salvation …

To write this text at 5.00 am (that’s when I work best) I was inspired by a text by Sebastian Kłosowski (last one) http://nowy.tezeusz.pl/blog/206751.html . I am very glad that Theseus bloggers are taking on this type of topic, however the topic would not be presented. I do not want to argue with Sebastian’s text, because I find in it a lot of passion and faith, but also a lot of religiosity and denomination. And that should be outside the truth-seeking free mind. Jesus is the Truth and only in Him can we find it, or rather be revealed.

The science of human salvation is soteriology. It is concerned with salvation and, of course, the savior in the context of salvation, i.e. Jesus Christ, it is important to emphasize this, because soteriological teachings also appear in other faiths (Buddhism). It is inherently concerned with guilt, redemption (form, person) and the state of the redeemed man. Of course, I will not write a great article here, because who is interested in the topic can read books and studies by Catholic, Protestant or Orthodox theologians. And since the topic is extremely important, there are a lot of these studies, probably in Theseus’s bookshop you can also get a good supply of theological items, a part of which is soteriology.

The author of the text – Sebastian – listing soteriological terms, he seems to have forgotten a few, and which require the interest of the seeker of God’s ways: perhaps I will list most of the terms used in soteriology.

· Sin and the effects of sin

· The state of man without God

· The meaning of Christ’s redemption

· Christ’s salvation range

· God’s grace

· Human Newborn

· Growing into Christ

· Sanctification

· Conversion

· Abiding in Christ

· Faith

· Works of justice

· The Tribunal of Christ

It acc. there would be good topics for me to expand on them, so that the reader of Theseus could better understand the essence of salvation. Sebastian juxtaposed two issues that did not match salvation. You must juxtapose faith with works, but not salvation, which is not the work of man but of God. So I will try to bring the topic a bit closer, but of course briefly. If there is such a need, I am happy to expand on the subject.

For a good understanding of salvation , you have to look at this issue through the eyes of the Bible, what God says about it in the Holy Scriptures. As we know, man lost eternal life in the Garden of Eden, and since then his longing longs for God, as Augustine put it, “our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” God is not indifferent to man and for centuries stretches out his hands to him.

The turning point in the history of mankind was the fact of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross of Golgotha, God incarnated in man to become a sinless life the perfect sacrifice for man’s sins. The Bible teaches us that there is not a single righteous man and that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Therefore, only the Lamb of God could become an atoning sacrifice for the sins of every human being. Jesus Christ became the Lamb who not only laid down his life for man, but also rose from the dead, overcoming death which is the result of sin.

No human deserves salvation because of their life, their works, or anything else. Each one carries a death sentence. Flesh death and eternal death. The only salvation for lost humanity is Jesus Christ. We read in John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life. So faith comes to the fore. What does Christ say about this faith?

To sister Lazarus Martha , I am the resurrection and eternal life, everyone who believes in me , even if he dies, he will live. To his disciples in Jn 5:24 he says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes to him who sent me he has eternal life and will not be brought to justice, but has passed from death to life. “These important statements in which he directly speaks about salvation and faith, and many others testify to one that in Christ he is salvation. Not in some faith, not in rituals, not in the Bible, not in dogmas, but in Jesus.

How to understand this?

It is easiest for non-believers, as they have no religious associations. Likewise, children, and therefore Jesus mentions not forbidding children to come to Him, and He also addresses us so that we may become like children. Faith is not so much in Christ as in Christ. In a conversation with Nicodemus in chapter 3 of John, Jesus explains it in detail – you have to be born again, and in chapter 1 John tells us that God’s children are those who are born of God. Thus, it is not faith itself that is needed for salvation, because it is born in the heart of a man who seeks God, but also something else, God’s grace. And here are the famous quotes from the letter to the Ephesians – because by grace you are saved through faith, it is God’s gift, not by works, lest anyone boast, because we are his work …

Thousands of testimonials from people who experienced God’s grace speak unequivocally, and millions over the centuries – I met Christ, I gave my life to the Lord and a miracle happened. People convert from their ways and accept God’s way, not all, but those who have done it, as Paul the apostle can say, no longer I live, but Christ lives in me … life changes by 180 degrees, so we have many testimonies marginalized people, criminals, drug addicts, alcoholics, aggressors, the lost, thirsty for justice. Jesus calls this moment a new birth from the Holy Spirit. And the apostle Paul explains that our spirit was dead because of sin, but God’s Spirit breathed life into it. Here we need to explain our human construction. Man, as a being created in imitation of God, consists of a body, soul and spirit.

Understanding this triad gives us an insight into our complex interior – the body, we can all see and feel it, the soul, we are the proper us, that is, our desires, dreams, aspirations, identity, etc. On the other hand, the spirit is God’s dwelling place in us, it is the link between God and us. So let’s say our antenna to God, this spirit in us is dead because of sin – I encourage you to read the letter to the Romans, but God’s Spirit enlivens it at the moment when we invite Christ with all our heart into our lives, understanding His sacrifice and accepting it as our own sins. The sacrifice and salvation in Christ are priceless. There is nothing in the universe that can save us from ourselves and from Hell. We cannot add anything or take anything from Christ’s sacrifice, we can only accept it with humility. Often, however, a person has to fall low to call from the bottom of his heart to the Lord. Because with a broken heart you will not despise God, says David in Psalm 51, salvation begins the path of a man’s relationship with God in Christ Jesus.

Salvation moves man from death to life, from heathen to child of God, son and daughter of God. From the state of being lost to the priesthood and royal people, to God’s inheritance. A child is born in the Kingdom of God, no longer belonging to this world, but transferred to the Kingdom of God. This fact is best reflected in Ephesians 2: 4-6 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for great love his, whom he loved us, and us who died in the fall, he gave life to us with Christ – you are saved by grace – and raised him up with him and seated with him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus “.

This is an unheard-of truth that every newborn person learns in the course of his life, as it is like a child raised with slaves who begins to understand its state over time. Just as Moses was raised in the court of Pharaoh, but his destiny was different, so also God’s children, as they grow up in Christ, become more and more aware of their position in the Lord. This is not a reason to boast about oneself, because no one deserves such a great grace, but a reason to boast of the Lord and a reason to tell those who perish, that there is grace, that there is salvation.

New birth does not happen because of any deed, will not be given by any sacraments, no church ceremonies, no even the most sophisticated works, God gives the new birth in His grace through faith, and we should turn to Him, specifically to Jesus Christ. He is life. In him we have eternal life. Our earthly life is in Him too, growing into Him, we take on His character and His heart. Filled with His Spirit, we recognize His will and by doing it, we fulfill the rest of the definition of salvation – “saved … to good works that God has prepared for us.” In other words, these good works are God’s will for our lives. It is fulfilling it, together with Christ in His Spirit.

Our fleshly deeds are like a tainted garment, marked with selfishness, a desire to stand out, pride, therefore Jesus says to be a leader, one must become the servant of all. This is the definition of works, not that we are admired, because then these are our actions, but to do what God commands, even if it involves humiliation and death. Christ wants us to be always at His disposal and uses us often, and we don’t even know it and that’s how it should be. It is not I who live, but Christ lives in me, the Apostle Paul sang.

My article is getting long and it’s time to end, if you have questions dear readers, don’t be afraid to ask and I’ll try to answer you. This is a very important topic and the answer to the question whether I am saved and belong to the Lord is the most important thing in our life.

If you are not sure, it is worth fighting for it, and then exercising salvation with fear and trembling.

Yours in Mr. Kazik J.
