Consideration for XXXIII Sunday in Ordinary Time, year C2

How do you not get scared at the mere thought of the end of the world? How not to fear wars, upheavals and the destruction of the temple (where will we go?)? How can you not lose your trust when you see such terrible signs on earth and in the sky?

There will be no stone left on the stone from the temple… Even the mighty and high power will end. A mighty temple that is the pride of the nation, the largest buildings that bear witness to wealth and social position – all this will turn to dust. And my importance …, titles, achievements, respect earned, bank account …? All of this won’t matter in the slightest. Well, the coffin will not fit the diplomas and awards … neither the car, nor the new plasma … Even the testimony of piety and the parish priest’s testimonials won’t help. Even religious movements and completed pilgrimages or retreats of the next level will not help … It’s all good and necessary, but that’s not all …

There will be no stone left on the stone from the temple … So nothing will be left of institutional religion (is there no pink prelates in heaven?), formal religion (paperwork and statistical religion, where 99% are Catholics) , from religiosity from – to (lest God forbid to strain too much, lest the religious string break …), from temples of artificially constructed piety …, from Catholic dulszczyzna (because what will people say!).

There will be no stone left on the stone from the temple … So what to care for, how to live? In the truth and the religiousness of the heart – me and him, him and me. Horrible? It seems to be scarier than earthquakes and signs in the sky … because how much will I have left in me when I am removed from ideological shells, belonging groups, devotional labels … theaters…

And these conflicts, spendings, betrayals, even in our own home … And around hatred … What awakens in us in this wild darkness will be nothing else or new, but only a consequence of our everyday life …

Who am I and where am I on my way to God? Time to expose yourself to yourself, because we are chameleons in suits or on high heels. It’s time to get to the truth about ourselves, because we are masters of camouflage … Nothing can be hidden from him, so it’s time to change your life. It can revive the already stinking corpse inside me. Maybe the language is too primitive and vulgar? But it’s about you and me, our salvation. Either I am having fun or I am being saved. Either I play something that resembles Christianity in my own version, or I save myself by taking the Gospel of Jesus seriously. These are not appearances and the true face hidden under makeup, but my eternity. Who am I really following, not as a wish (as I would like it to be), but specifically. What you love the most and what you think about the most is your god (Martin Luther) … And now look at your day, today or yesterday … What’s your god’s name?

Faith is not a frame, but what is in it. Faith is not a doctrine, but a heart that beats, vibrates, desires meeting. Therefore, come back to the original love, return to the fascination with Him and the heart beating faster at the thought of meeting … But a hair will not fall off your head. Through your perseverance you will save your souls! Remain in Him and with Him. Draw close to him in truth and humility. He knows the truth about your heart. So don’t pretend to be someone you are not. Do not stretch your spiritual muscles artificially, but look calmly at yourself and at Him. Then you will understand everything and your heart will come alive! Take courage! Our life and salvation are in him!
