FEAR, ANXIETY? 😨 What to do when war is next to us.

Many people are starting to fear or worry about the situation in Ukraine. It’s normal, human.

But what to do so that anxiety does not turn into fear, fear turns into panic, and panic turns into hysteria?

How to protect yourself and loved ones when Russian psychopaths attack seriously?

Today I was supposed to publish a column about wages and paradoxes in the boss-employee relationship. But still today we will be about other paradoxes and mechanisms that can help us deal with this strange situation.

After I finished this column, tears started to pour into my eyes and my stomach tightened.

I allow myself to do so. I stayed with it. I felt sad. And it’s important to allow yourself to experience a difficult emotion. It is not worth strangling her. You have to let her leave. We can cry it, we can write it on a piece of paper, we can say it out loud, on a video or in a conversation. These are the basic methods of anti-crisis therapy.

At the same time, don’t let your thoughts and emotions get stuck. If you can’t control what’s going on there, then focus on what’s good and important to you.

Fear, fear will not help anyone. Neither you nor our neighbors. Either look for a way to help them realistically or focus on what you can do in your life.

Getting soaked in bad news, constant talking about bad Putin and poor Ukraine will do no good to you or anyone else.

Release anger, sadness. Talk to your loved ones. But don’t get too excited. Stay calm, have faith, hope and do what brings good energy each day.

I know: ((it’s always easy to say and write. There will be a lot of experience, pain, fear.

At the same time, the sooner we tame our head, the less we will suffer. For many, the crisis management process begins.

It is a mental competence that is crucial in this situation! Otherwise, worries will kill us. Everyone has to find their own way to deal with such a catastrophe.

If someone close to you is in Ukraine, it is natural that emotions will flood your whole body and mind.

Therefore:

  1. You need to keep your head busy with an action that will keep you from being immersed in worry
  2. Create a support group with people like you to support each other
  3. If you are a believer, pray more often, if not – then discover the power of meditation, mantras and contact with the subconscious.
  4. If you can, make sure to take home people fleeing Ukraine or look for information on how else you can support those who are suffering. Foundations will need money, things for children, families whose homes will disappear or will be taken over
  5. If nothing helps, ask a trusted person and / or a psychologist, therapist – whom you know, or write to us – we will recommend a specialist – to help you deal with your thoughts and emotions.

For people outside politics and the military, war is a period of learning to remain in uncertainty, uncertainty, where we have no influence, no control.

Then the mind panics, it is afraid.

Working on accepting what we cannot change, letting go of what we cannot control is crucial. Otherwise we’ll go crazy.

And from a different perspective.

Many help to hard name reality:

  • Yes, there is evil in the world
  • Yes, there is death in the world
  • Yes, there are people in the world who are psychopaths, harming others, and power hungry
  • Yes, many people will be killed and will die
  • Yes, maybe Russia will take Ukraine and many people will suffer.

At the same time, we, Poles, were also killed many times, we disappeared from the map, we were ignored by the USA, UK, France and Europe. At the beginning of World War II, almost no one was interested in Poland.

After World War II, many Polish soldiers were not appreciated in the UK, despite the fact that they gave their lives there. After the Second World War, we were “sold” to the Russians and communism came. Despite all this, we have become a free nation. Of course, there were those who supported Poland forever. There are those who still believe that Poland is not a free country because it belongs to Germans or Russians. This is not the point now to prove who is right.

The facts are that each of us has had a lot of crises. The facts are that Europe and Poland experienced a great deal of suffering.

This is black reality and you have to learn to live in it. Either the blackness consumes us, or we find a way to act differently in a world full of evil!

Don’t let evil swallow you up. Don’t let bad emotions and thoughts draw you in. Look for people, groups, people who will be able to support each other.

Such a brutal thought in a brutal reality. As part of the # 5 DÄ™bowski Column “Such a Thought” [#felietondebowski #takamysl]

What’s your thought? 🤔

How do you feel in the current situation?

What helps you on this strange day?

What helped you or supported your relatives when you experienced large-scale crises, problems?
