An intern receives an internship scholarship. However, such a scholarship is different than an internship voucher. We explain how the two concepts differ.

Internships, apart from vocational training, are usually the most popular among the unemployed registered with the employment office. The main reason is the effectiveness of internships: sometimes they are 100%. This means that after their completion, all interns find employment, mostly in the company that accepted them for the internship.

Internship for specific groups of the unemployed

It is the Poviat Labor Office that organizes internships for registered unemployed. PUP itself does not accept the interested unemployed for an internship, but prepares it for them. Therefore, it is an intermediary between the employer who cooperates with the PUP and offers internships, and the unemployed who want to take advantage of this internship. The employment office usually offers internships to certain groups of unemployed people. These are, for example, people up to the age of 25 and those who are at least 50 years old, the long-term unemployed (considered as unemployed for one or two years), the disabled, unemployed without education or with low professional qualifications, and women, including who re-enter the labor market after prolonged absence due to the birth and rearing of children.

The intern is still unemployed

Internships usually last from 3 months to half a year (although sometimes longer), and the employer who accepts the unemployed for an internship declares to employ him for a specified period of time, for example for another half a year after completing the six-month period. internship. Thanks to this, a person who was unemployed works for a minimum of a year. A trainee who goes on an internship is not removed from the list of unemployed persons. According to the Act on the promotion of employment and labor market institutions, he is still unemployed.

Internship scholarship

The intern receives money. It is an internship scholarship, paid to the trainee every month by the employment office. This scholarship amounts to 120 percent of the basic allowance for the unemployed monthly, i.e. PLN 997.40 gross (the basic allowance for the first three months is PLN 831.10). This amount is valid until the end of May 2017, and from June 1 there will be a change in the amount of unemployment benefits. When a trainee receives a scholarship, he no longer receives unemployment benefits.

If the trainee has missed a day or several days of the internship or has been absent for a longer period and has unexcused absence, he / she will not be entitled to an internship grant for this period. The payout will therefore be reduced by these days. The scholarship for an incomplete month is determined by dividing the amount of the scholarship by 30 and multiplying it by the number of calendar days in the period for which the benefit is due. On the other hand, the unemployed retains the right to receive a scholarship for the period of documented inability to work during the internship. This means: if he was sick and could not come to the internship, but presents a sick leave, he will receive an internship for this period.

Training voucher

The internship voucher also applies to internships, but it is not synonymous with an internship. The voucher supports the unemployed up to 30 years of age. Such a voucher is to give them a guarantee of referral to an internship with an employer that was indicated by the unemployed, for a period of 6 months, if the employer undertakes to employ the unemployed person after the internship ends for the next 6 months. An unemployed person for whom an individual action plan (IPD) has been prepared in the PUP may apply for an internship voucher. The IPD is prepared by a client advisor in collaboration with a registered unemployed person.

14 days to find an employer

An unemployed person, interested in receiving an internship voucher, is looking for a potential internship organizer. The unemployed person gives the customer adviser the voucher filled in by the organizer within 14 days from the date of issuing the voucher. However, if the unemployed person does not find a potential internship organizer within this 2-week period, he also returns the voucher to the client advisor.

Unemployment Voucher, boss bonus

As part of the internship voucher, the unemployed person has the cost of traveling from home to the internship and back. This money is in the form of a lump sum, the maximum amount is PLN 600 and is paid to the unemployed every month in the amount of up to PLN 100, including the scholarship. The amount received under the internship voucher may also be used to cover the costs of the necessary medical or psychological examinations.
