Looks like a deep fryer, promises to heat up fried chicken and hides a powerful GPU: KFC Gaming launches its own console: joke or truth?

For some time now, Kentucky Fried Chicken, the famous American fast food chain specializing in fried chicken, has announced the launch of its own console on the game market. The announcement of KFC games has finally arrived and unveiled the KFC console, which is rumored to be the result of a collaboration between Cooler Master and ASUS.

In a Twitter post, a well-known US network shows a video and announces the arrival of a console that not only promises outstanding gaming performance, but also the ability to reheat fried chicken ordered from KFC restaurants. Attached to the tweet are videos and a landing page detailing the impressive features of the console, from the Intel NUC platform to the ASUS graphics card with the Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU. Social media users have taken the humorous sight of the announcement, and many find it hard to believe that a game console can actually heat fried chicken, or even exists. However, if it is confirmed, all we have to do is wait for the price and release date.

KFConsole, functions and ‘chicken chamber’

The features of the KFC Gaming console, at least on paper, are excellent. The console is designed by Cool Master with a custom Fryer-shaped Timpelay NC100 chassis, but at the heart of the console is the Intel Nuc 9 Extreme Compute Element platform, with an ASUS graphics card and an Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU.

Games start in seconds and storage is provided by two 1TB Seagate Barracuda SSDs. KFConsole is designed to enjoy the world of virtual reality, using ray tracing for realistic light and shadow effects as well as offering smooth gameplay thanks to the refresh rate of 240 frames per second and 240 Hz support for 4K resolution displays.

There are also chicken compartments that use the heat emitted by the system to heat fried chicken and enjoy it crispy every round.

KFConsole: advertising gimmick or upcoming console?

The Twitter announcement was received by users with humor and amusement, and user comments suggested that it might just be an ad hoc advertising campaign aimed at creating an association between fried chicken as a snack and the gaming world.

There are those who believe that KFConsole is indeed in production, and the announcement is only a prelude to the upcoming launch of the console born of the collaboration of KFC, Cooler Master, Intel and ASUS. In that case, you can wonder when it will appear and what will be the cost, but most of all what system will use the “chicken chamber” to heat the snack without damaging the console.

The curiosity caused by this announcement is great and we can only wait for further developments to find out whether it is a well-thought-out advertising gimmick or a new console ready to challenge Sony’s PS5 and Microsoft’s X-series Xbox.
