Do you think a bartender only needs to be able to pour beer with foam or without a white cap? You’re wrong. To make a Cosmopolitan drink properly, you need knowledge and practice.

Which glass to choose? What is the order of mixing? With crushed or cubed ice? To decorate or not? Lemon slice or pineapple? If you have doubts and different books give you different answers, you can sign up for a bartending training organized by the Polish Bartenders Association, which will take place in Koszalin. SPB is a non-governmental organization run by bartenders for bartenders, whose primary function is to integrate this environment in Poland, improve the qualifications and creativity of bartenders and promote the highest standards of work in this profession. He is the only representative of Poland in the International Bartenders Association, which meets every year at international congresses, where the world championship in drink preparation is held.

– The course will start on October 4 at 8 o’clock – informs Artur Olech, head of Warka pub at ul. Wańkowicz, where the bartenders will be trained. – The training will last four days. They will end with a written and practical exam.

The full name of the course is “bartender-mixer” SPB – Level A. In the past, the course was simply a first-level training, however, as members of the Bartenders Association say, companies that do not have their own, licensed training programs, appropriate staff of trainers and lecturers, 1st and 2nd degree bartending training, misleading potential future bartenders.

Classes in Koszalin will be conducted by Ryszard Matusiak, a student of Zdzisław Nowicki, hailed as “the father of Polish bartenders”. Ryszard Matusiak has the highest bartending title – Master Bartender. In Poland, only 26 people obtained it, including 12 bartenders today.

Enrollment for the course is already underway. You can submit your participation in person at the seat of the Warka club at ul. Wańkowicza 82 in Koszalin. – Adults may take part in the training. Gender doesn’t matter. Just like professional experience – absolute amateurs can come, as well as people who already work in the profession, but want to improve their qualifications – explains Artur Olech.

Learning will not take place in colored waters, but with all the necessary alcohols. Hence the cost of the course – PLN 600.

Level A SPB is recommended by the International Bartenders Association, because the content and sets of practical classes are consistent with the training programs of most bartending organizations associated in this global organization.

Framework program of the SPB bartending course – Level A:

  • Introduction to the profession of bartender, Outline of technology and commodity science of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages,
  • Classification and characteristics of mixed drinks,
  • Mixing technique, theoretical and practical application of recipes,
