In summer, extending your CV with new entries may be cheaper and faster. See what courses are offered by Lublin schools.

Accounting, Language and Graphics

Summer courses for PLN 390 are offered by UMCS Foundation . You can choose classes in English, German, Russian, Spanish, French and Italian . The offer also includes computer courses where you can learn the use of MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or computer accounting with HR and payroll elements . They all last 30 teaching hours.

At the end of each course, as well as after completing the classes taking place during the academic year, we receive a certificate of participation. So how do holiday courses differ from the usual offer? – They have a reduced number of hours and are focused on intensive learning – says Agnieszka Flaga from the UMCS Foundation. – Class hours will be adjusted to their participants. The courses also have a promotional price – he adds.

In fact, apart from summer holidays, the courses at the Foundation are at least PLN 100 more expensive, but they usually last 60 hours. Language classes also differ in the way they learn. – They are communication-oriented and intended for people who would like to go abroad and practice their vocabulary earlier – explains Agnieszka Flaga.

According to the student’s wishes

The Lublin branch of the Profi-Lingua language school also has a summer offer. It offers the same languages as the UMCS foundation. There are four types of courses to choose from. The monthly intensive course here costs PLN 479 and includes 48 lessons. The one-year standard language course program can also be completed in two months. It costs PLN 999. The offer also includes a two-week conversation course for PLN 279. – The groups are very small. We are already starting from three or four people, and during the summer holidays the groups do not exceed eight – says Marlena Dobrzyńska from the Profi-Lingua school.

The student can also learn alone with the teacher. Such classes cost PLN 1,250. – With an individual face to face course, it is possible to weave your own program, it can be conducted, for example, in terms of business English, in terms of work or preparation for the TELC exam – explains Marlena Dobrzyńska.

A whole year for the motivated

The A1 Foreign Language School in Lublin offers three types of summer courses. In the first, accelerated one, classes are held twice a week. In the Intensive and Super-Intensive Course, students meet daily from Monday to Friday. – The accelerated and intensive courses are 30 hours long and this corresponds to the middle of one semester. The Super-Intensive Course lasts 60 hours, which is one whole semester. If someone is so motivated and there is a group, you can do a year of study during the summer holidays – says Piotr Pańkowski from A1 school.

In each case, 30 hours of study cost PLN 450. The school offers nine languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian and Italian. Previous years have shown, however, that only some of them have enough volunteers during the summer holidays to start the classes. – In English, Spanish and French there is the best chance that a group will gather – says Piotr Pańkowski.

Worth the investment

Although holiday prices are lower than those applicable during the school year, each course is still a considerable expense. However, specialists who deal with the agency in hiring employees say that such a course may pay off. – Sometimes education is insufficient and the employer appreciates the employee’s participation in courses and development. This signals that this person is investing in his professional development – says Joanna Krzykanowska from the KreatorzyKariery.pl employment agency.

They advise, however, that all courses should be chosen so that they are logically related to our previous education and experience. Therefore, a computer graphics or accounting course may not be useful to everyone. It is different with tongues. – English is more and more often the basis for employers. It is good if we know an additional foreign language, e.g. Russian or German. Many employers also require Spanish or French. It is definitely better to invest in a language course than in another one that is not related to our work – says Joanna Krzykanowska.
