On April 10, 2008, as part of the official visit to Russia, UN Secretary General Pan Hi Muna, a meeting was held with Russian participants in the UN Global Treaty. It was devoted to the presentation of the Global Agreement certificates to representatives of Russian business.

In his appeal, Mr. Pan Hi Moon said that leading Russian companies have already adopted the principles of corporate responsibility, recognizing the role of business in the development of society and the significance of non-financial risks for investors. The UN Secretary General noted that about 30 companies in Russia became participants in the UN global agreement. Expressing the hope of a significant expansion of their circle in the future, Mr. Pan Hi Moon called on the company for active cooperation within the framework of the UN Global National Network, emphasized the leading role of the RSPP in promoting the ideas of social responsibility of corporations.
The launch of the Russian network of the global agreement means that Russian companies join thousands of companies around the world that comply with ten principles of a global agreement, including observing human rights, environmental protection, counteracting corruption, creating good working conditions, and eliminating labor and employment discrimination.
