On Inno Day 2021, Oppo presented Find N, an innovative foldable smartphone that will surprise even the most skeptical – here’s why
On the second day of Inno Day 2021, Oppo had some very interesting surprises up its sleeve. Following the presentation of Air Glass, the innovative smart glasses, the Chinese brand also debuted Oppo Find N, a foldable smartphone with a unique and futuristic design.
The new top-of-the-range model surprises everyone with a very special hinge and dual display, one external and one internal, to easily switch from one usage scenario to another. While the hardware is respectable, the lack of a new Qualcomm chipset, the very current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, does not go unnoticed, which could make the device promising fireworks even more attractive in 2022. In other cases, Oppo Find N’s strengths are numerous and allow the user to do virtually nothing.
Oppo Find N: Features
When closed, Oppo Find N is a regular smartphone, equipped with an OLED display with a diagonal of 5.49 inches and Full HD + resolution with an aspect ratio of 18: 9. When opened, the device sports its 7.1-inch LTPO “Serene Display” OLED with 8.4: 9 aspect ratio and 120 Hz refresh rate. It is in fact the most compact foldable butterfly phone on the market when the internal display is closed.
According to the manufacturer, this internal panel can withstand over 200,000 folds, thanks to the Flexion Hinge, which Oppo says reduces the visibility of a bend on the screen by 80%. In addition, the mechanism minimizes the gap between the two parts of the display when the phone is folded, which prevents dust from entering.
This design adds to the thickness of the closed device, which measures 132.6 x 73 x 15.9 millimeters. When opened, Find N measures 132.6 x 140.2 x 7.8 millimeters. The total weight is only 276 grams.
When it comes to hardware, we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 2.1 internal memory. The battery is a 4500 mAh unit with support for SuperVOOC fast charging at 33 W, wireless charging at 15 W and reverse charging to charge another device.
The main camera consists of three lenses: main 50MP, 16MP ultra wide angle and 13MP telephoto lens, while the 32MP selfie lens is inside. There is also support for 5G networks, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and GPS, as well as a side fingerprint sensor for unlocking.
Oppo Find N: Pricing and Availability
It was still too early for Oppo to introduce a new, top Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 gen. 1 processor, which would further increase the price of this smartphone. Find N aims to impress consumers with its innovative design and many features that will allow them to take full advantage of its capabilities.
The new foldable phone will be available in China from December 23rd and will cost 7,699 yuan (approximately € 1,069), before possibly arriving in Italy in 2022. However, the price can only be higher due to logistical costs and higher taxation.
