The difference between deleting an app and deleting a WhatsApp profile
Deleting an app from a smartphone and deleting WhatsApp accounts are not the same. If you delete WhatsApp from your smartphone, you will temporarily lose access to your profile and will no longer be able to send or receive messages. But our account will remain active and other users will still be able to see our profile picture and status, including the last time we logged in. If you reinstall the app and follow the steps to verify your profile, you’ll get all the messages and calls you missed while you were inactive.
If you choose to delete your WhatsApp account, you will lose your message history, be removed from groups, and your profile will be hidden so that no one can steal your profile picture.
The second option is much more drastic and will remove all your WhatsApp links. In case we decide to go back to the application in the future, we will have to create a new account.
What will happen to old messages if you delete WhatsApp
If you delete WhatsApp from your smartphone, your messages will remain stored in the cloud and can be restored via a backup if you choose to reinstall the app. For Android users, messages are saved to Google Drive, and for iOS users, they are saved to iCloud.
What happens to photos and videos if you delete WhatsApp
Deleting WhatsApp from your smartphone doesn’t mean you are deleting all the content you receive. Photos, videos and documents will still be stored on the device and can be accessed at any time in the file manager or in the phone gallery.
What will happen to WhatsApp groups if you delete the app
Removing WhatsApp from your smartphone will not remove you from the groups you are in or lose your administrator role. However, if you choose to delete your WhatsApp account, you will lose all administrator roles and will also be removed from groups.
How to delete a WhatsApp account
To delete a WhatsApp profile, you must log in to the application, click Settings, and then Accounts. A new page will open where you should select the “Delete Account” option. At this point, WhatsApp will ask you to enter your phone number and confirm that you have deleted your profile.
