Some applications degrade the performance of the smartphone or use too much power. Here are the apps you should remove right away

Applications are the heart and soul of smartphones. They are essential because they offer additional services over and above those provided by the device, but demonic because they consume battery power, waste time, and in some cases are even dangerous. Information about new Android applications that contain adware, i.e. special malware that displays advertisements and steals information about the user, appears almost every day.

What to do with applications? Should you remove them all from your smartphone? Or maybe there is some way to better manage them? Demonizing an application would be foolish. They are a very useful tool if used properly. They allow you to monitor your physical activity, speed up communication at work and many other functions. However, installing too many applications can be dangerous. Especially for “smartphone health”: battery life may deteriorate, as can the performance of the device. There are certain categories of apps that you might want to remove completely from your smartphone.

Which of them are we talking about? Certainly applications that take up too much memory on your smartphone. These are mostly social games and applications that now occupy hundreds and hundreds of megabytes without the user noticing. On the same level are the apps that consume the smartphone’s battery: in some cases, apps may stay active in the background and still drain the device. Here are all the apps you need to remove immediately to avoid any problems with your smartphone.

Applications That Hide Viruses

This is an issue that mainly affects Android smartphones as it is an open source operating system and also allows you to install apps from third party stores. The number of Android apps containing malware and viruses has increased dramatically in recent months. Most of the time, it is adware, a special type of virus that continually displays deceptive ads and slows down your smartphone’s performance.

Adware is dangerous for several reasons: in addition to degrading device performance, it can steal users’ personal information, spy on them, and activate unwanted paid subscriptions. If you notice strange ads appearing on your device’s screen, check which apps you recently updated or installed and uninstall them immediately.

Apps that use too much battery power

The battery life of smartphones is one of the main problems that manufacturers are trying to solve, but with rather poor success. The problem is with more and more energy-intensive applications: despite the battery with a capacity of 4000-5000 mAh, the smartphone has to be charged every day. Even if you close an app every time you finish using it, in many cases it stays active in the background and still consumes energy. Common cases are messaging and social applications that remain active to send notifications and alerts.

If you find that an app is using a lot of battery power (you can check it in the Battery pane of Settings), delete it. You will surely find an energy-saving alternative in the App Store and Google Play Store.

Apps That Degrade Smartphone Performance

Is your smartphone slower than usual? Can’t start any application? Applications may be to blame. If your disk space is over 90% full, you need to start cleaning up by removing unnecessary or duplicate applications. Just go through your list of apps and see which ones are similar or which you haven’t used in a long time. After removing them, you will see that your smartphone will be fast again.

Applications that consume too much space

There are some applications that take up a lot of memory without even noticing it. Most of the time, these are video games and social applications. In many cases, video games force the user to download additional packages after installing an application. These packets can be several hundred megabytes in size. Example? Real Racing 3 or any other car driving simulation game.

Social applications are another problem. In recent years, they keep getting bigger due to the new features that have been developed. If you can’t do without Facebook (one of the heaviest apps), you can install the Lite version for developing countries. Some features are missing, but the main ones are all.
