After Prime Day 2020, it’s time to look ahead to the next savings opportunities: Black Friday is coming, this year it will take place on Friday 27 November. As every year, Black Friday will be an opportunity to buy technology at heavily discounted prices and take home something we need or just pamper ourselves.
Black Friday 2020, however, will be slightly different due to the pandemic that delayed the release of some products, such as the iPhone 12, as well as due to the arrival of two new-generation consoles: Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. But surely during Black Friday, Italians will buy much more, especially small and large appliances for home and entertainment, from robotic vacuum cleaners to cyclone vacuum cleaners, going through smart TVs, smartphones and smartwatches, not forgetting this year’s must-have: an electric scooter that, coincidence would like that from the beginning of November you can buy with much less deliberation using the government’s Mobility Bonus 2020.
Black Friday: what categories to look for
Black Friday is a discount period, so it will come in handy when buying expensive products that we normally can’t or won’t buy at full price. Following this basic logic, it is worth paying attention to large household appliances, especially smart ones, and top-shelf mobile phones. But the opposite is also true: during Black Friday discounts, even products that are already cheap but not enough to convince us to buy them become interesting. Of course, products are not essentials, but they can certainly be useful, e.g. fitness bands, quick chargers for smartphones, various covers and cases, and smart speakers for a smart home. In this case, we are talking about products that are on average below 100 Euro, even below 50 in some cases, which can reach bargain prices during Black Friday. So why not buy them?

It is clear at this point: on Black Friday we can get great deals at both high and low price levels. But how do we choose the products we want to buy? Or, in other words, how to prepare for Black Friday?
In the high price range, the advice is to evaluate your needs, especially when it comes to large devices. Sooner or later we all need to change our fridge, washing machine or oven, so why not take advantage of Black Friday to buy a discounted smart device that we can connect to our smart speaker and control via our favorite digital assistant?
For the lower price range, however, the reasoning is different: here we can make some discounted purchases in the run-up to the holiday season. Tech gadgets are always one of the most popular Christmas gifts (and not only for the little ones), and pre-purchasing them is a winning move.
Black Friday 2020: the matter of games
Finally, let’s go back to the beginning: we cannot deny that this year Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X | S are the object of desire of thousands of Italians. With a maximum price of € 499 (for both devices), these devices are in the middle of the two product ranges described above.
Black Friday will be an opportunity not only to look for discounts on next-generation consoles, but also on accessories and dozens of games in physical format, which will again be the perfect Christmas gift for technology lovers.
